Usually, cry genes are harbored by the large plasmids of Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt). So far I can recall, I read in an article that these large plasmids are lost if Bt is grown at temperature over 30 °C. Hence, the the synthesis of Cry proteins does not take place. This is the explanation why Bt biopesticide production should be performed at temperature below 30 °C. And most of the production related article report the similar temperatures.
