Usually, cry genes are harbored by the large plasmids of Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt). So far I can recall, I read in an article that these large plasmids are lost if Bt is grown at temperature over 30 °C. Hence, the the synthesis of Cry proteins does not take place. This is the explanation why Bt biopesticide production should be performed at temperature below 30 °C. And most of the production related article report the similar temperatures.
Is there any temperature related concrete study?

Each bacteria has an optimal growth temperature. Moreover it is desirable to avoid mutants of such pesticide bacteria growing at temperature higher than 30 C because they could represent a danger for vertebrates.
Thanks for your answers. I wanted to think it in a different way. If Bt is grown at 37 °C, would it lose its delta endotoxin synthesis capability? In case of industrial productivity, since better Bt biomass was obtained at 37 °C, such conditions could be useful. Luis Miguel Constantino
