Quotes:

"born c. 6–4"(Sanders, et al 2023).

"Some scholars believe that he was born between 6 B.C. and 4 B.C., based partly on the biblical story of King Herod the Great"(Leggett, et al 2021).

Jesus' birth is subject to heavy debate as many argue he was not born on December 25. Even if Jesus was born on December 25 that day(12/25) still would not be the last day of the year(last is 12/31). Many argue Jesus' birth was to appease Pagans by making it closer to Winter Solstice. BCE may factually be more appropriate than BC because the actually date of Christ's birth is unknown. AD may be less arbitrary because Christ's death may be more indicated though not certain. Maybe BCE and CE are the most appropriate terms to mark years because many factors(not all identifiable) caused the common era.
