We have been using the Agilent CE system coupled to Q-TOF for several years for intact protein research. Very recently we got an error from the CE about "internal pressure and vacuum error". Does anyone have some idea about the error? Any suggestions are very much appreciated.
Liangliang Sun: Please consult the system and user manual. Review the Instrument LOG for the specific error codes found. Sounds like the air pump may be broken or a section of tubing is leaking. These systems require regular cleaning and maintenance (i.e. vac pumps are consumable items requiring routine replacement).

this error covers many different causes within the CE's pressure system.
Have you tried running the pressure test from the Agilent Lab Advisor? If you can not run that test, contact your service field engineer because sometimes an authorized login is needed.
During the test, you can see at which point of the CE the pressure fails to hold. It can happen due to damage to the tubing, improper tightening of the electrolyte bottles or tubing, or even because of one of the pressure sensors. In the case of the latter, recalibration of the pressure sensor might work for you.
