Women in least developed countries and developing countries in Africa and Asia are responsible for food production (agriculture, livestock, fisheries, aquaculture ), collection of water and bio-fuel (wood) and management of natural resources. Women farmer accounts for 45-80% percent of all food production in poor countries. Women in developing countries are highly dependent on local natural resources for their livelihood.

Is women more vulnerable to climate change than me? according to my understanding also, answer is ýes', but it is depending on the geo-spacial context of the world as well as it has associated with some factors such as poverty, un-education, traditional social value systems etc. Mainly in the developing context; majority of women can be considered as marginalized poor social group and also they can be considered as depending group on natural resources than men for their livelihoods and survival. so when change natural eco-systems as a result of climate change they automatically became more vulnerable social group . We are all aware that women farmers or farm workers have no regular employment ,savings or economic security to face any problem when any agriculture enterprise fails due to climate change.Creation of alternate employment opportunities through skill development in rural areas is very important to reduce vulnerability.Many may not have land rights and so getting farm loans or other incentives is also a problem in case of distress like crop failure.
