I am looking for any (psychology) research on mass shootings in the U.S. Specifically, what are the cultural factors that are the predominant causes of the localized nature of these attacks in U.S? I suspect it might have something to do with the individualistic feature of the culture (individualistic cultures->independence->you are on your own->no community and less chances of social support->depression, loneliness, isolation, search for significance in wrong places) but that obviously doesn't explain the whole story since other individualistic cultures don't have such alarming number of mass shootings.
