Hi, I am utilizing automatic optimization in hec-hms to calibrate my event model but the optimized parameters are constant for the 3 parameters i.e. time of concentration, storage coefficient and constant rate loss. I am using the simplex search method, what should I do?

1. Just make sure you have given the ranges accordingly,
2. make sure the parameters are locked or not,

The question may have many answers, but for you to have a good result in your optimization I recommend you explore chapter 13 of the Hydrologic Modeling System HEC-HMS User´s Manual. I share it with you so you do not look for it.

[It is hard to provide a solid answer without seeing your model and setup]
Repeat the process and fix two parameter and only perturb one at the time and see if you see the same result. It may be a trap of gradient-based-method of optimization for that particular triplet of parameters.
