Hi everyone,

I am trying to optimise IP tamoxifen injection for an inducible C57 Cre line, currently 75mg/kg injections every day for 5 days, followed by a 7 day wait period prior to tissue harvesting. This is in sunflower oil. (Max 150uL per injection)

however, the mice are losing 10-20% of their body weight within 9 days, become visible sick so I PTS prematurely. i have done a gross necropsy and have noticed swollen and yellowing of the intestines, alongside a full stomach. - I have pictures if required but didn’t want to just post them here.

does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be happening? I’m planning to inject just with the oil to determine whether this is causing issues compared to a saline control.
