Hey everyone,

I recently conducted tensile tests on a magnesium alloy (AZ31B) using a dogbone design with a TD (90°) angle. My material was sourced as a round shelf, and I cut it to the specified dimensions: length 100mm, width 20mm, middle width 6mm, and thickness 2mm. I've attached a clear design for better visualization along with a picture of the tension test results.

Throughout my experiments, I maintained a consistent speed of 1.8 mm/min on the tensile machine. Despite conducting multiple tests, I've noticed that the stress-strain curves differ significantly when tested in the TD (90°) direction.

Can anyone shed some light on why this might be happening? I'm puzzled by the inconsistency and would greatly appreciate any insights or suggestions on how to address this issue.

my question, Only 1 Direction (TD-90°) why is tensile test experiment stress strain curves different different result ?

Thank you in advance for your help!.
