A comprehensive timeline of the new coronavirus pandemic, from China's first COVID-19 case to the present https://www.businessinsider.com/coronavirus-pandemic-timeline-history-major-events-2020-3
The first case of someone suffering from Covid-19 can be traced back to 17 November, according to media reports on unpublished Chinese government data.
The report, in the South China Morning Post, said Chinese authorities had identified at least 266 people who contracted the virus last year and who came under medical surveillance, and the earliest case was 17 November – weeks before authorities announced the emergence of the new virus.
The Chinese government was widely criticised over attempts to cover up the outbreak in the early weeks, including crackdowns on doctors who tried to warn colleagues about a new Sars-like virus which was emerging in the city of Wuhan in Hubei province.
The data obtained by the Post, which the Guardian has not been able to verify, said a 55-year-old from Hubei province could have been the first person to contract Covid-19. For about one month after that date there were one to five new cases reported each day, the report said, and by 20 December there were 60 confirmed cases.
Thank you for all your answers. I am asking this question as we must know the actual "cause" of this outbreak.
We live in a world of cause and effect!
A mutation? A leakage from a lab? If a mutation, then why? and How?
(I have read Dr Charles Lieber's articles on nanowires (electrical detection of single viruses etc.) I think these articles will help us coming up with a treatment for COVID-19). This virus has an algorithmic behavior.
In my daily update of COVID19 dramatic phenomenon in Lombardia (N.Italy) I reviewed (date: ►2020 Aprile 19/B► ) all the official documents of China/WHO about the start of disease, with an extensive document reviews at end of pdf.
I hope is useful.

Dear Researchers, What if Covid-19 ends and returns in a new way with a new challenge ? Are we prepared enough to face that? I think it largely depends on our (human) reactions and activities. Our awareness, preparedness and a potential vaccine can save us this time by the grace of the almighty. Scientific invention and natural conservation may resist the return of this kinda virus as per as global warming is a rising concern. On the other hand, if it is a part of global politics (Bio-war) among super powers, only God knows what is waiting for us, the common people/countries. Because , I am afraid if it so, there might be counter attack. Lets see what is waiting for us. What do you think in this regard? -Shamsuddoha

With the developing stories of the spread of COVID-19 all around the world, which has been declared as a pandemic by WHO recently, I am wondering, in how much time this virus would vanish from the surface of the Earth? Is there any scientific study available for this?

CDC now recommends the general public to use cloth face-coverings to help slow the spread of COVID-19. It is even giving instructions how to make one (1). To encourage this the females are even encouraged to use a scarf to cover the face. Would you recommend the same to your patients?
This recommendation by CDC comes amid reports of spread of SARS-CoV-19 from an affected person to other by talking or speaking (2).
This reiterates the importance of social distancing and vindicates the decision of China, and many other countries to use this method to stem the spread of COVID-19.

Hello,
when was recorded the first case of COVID-19 outside the Chinese region of Hubei? The first case was reported on the city of Wuhan on the 31/12/19 -- although other sources said that there was at least another case in November and not in Wuhan.
But how long took the virus to get outside this region? I understand that all China was interested.
Thank you

Md. Abul Kalam Azad
The death toll of China due to Covid-19 was vigorously increased in its initial stage on February/march, 2020 as China was the pioneer of this pandemic. The infection of this disease was not significantly spread out the rest of the world in that time. But after that time the disease was increasingly grab the rest world and the death toll was also increased devastatingly. And the fatality of this pandemic is still going on. But the situation of China still looks good and remains static. What is the reason behind it?
