I'm looking for Viton gloves for 8" ports on a glove box for handling aromatic hydrocarbons. Does anyone know of suppliers that still carry them? They seem to of been discontinued by Honeywell.
The truth is that viton is not common for Glove Box. The standard is neoprene, hypalon or polyurethane. I would be surprised if you found viton gloves for Glove Boxes.
I found two suppliers, one in Germany and one in the US, however, neither have responded to inquiries on their availability. However, it seems you are correct, that they are uncommon, but I am curious how said solvents are then handled inside a glove box safely. According to the glove compatibility charts, it seems only Viton provides acceptable protection. Are secondary standard Viton gloves worn over the glove box gloves? I imagine this would significantly limit dexterity.
