Who leads the advances in science?
Whether, practitioners research and develop new approaches, then scientists define the conceptual frames using the established methodologies
Or else?

I think academics are producing ideas. Of these ideas, some (only some) are used by practitioners to solve the problems that society considers important at some point
I believe society determines the trend and practitioners serve it. Academics are simply raising ideas. Sometimes it takes dozens, hundreds of years until they prove useful.
In the practice of medicine. one needs randomized controlled trials in humans.
both; practitioners practically and academics theoretically. it is time for theorizing what u practice and practicing what u theorize
Ar per my opinion both are same trends practitioners and academicians but way is different.
