How should be future civil engineers taught English?But who has some specific information about linguistic competence for civil engineers? I mean some papers, article or who knows where to find them
Here in Brazil, I believe that four factors are encouraging the learning of technical english among students (and professional) in civil engineering:
- interchange opportunities;
- Post graduation: TOEFL requirement;
- Encouraging scientific initiative and production goods;
- Trainee programs in multinational firms.
The Polytechnic School of USP (São Paulo) minister a free english course for undergraduate and graduate aimed at writing articles and presentations at conferences.
Dear colleagues, thanka a lot for your responses really! But who has some specific information about linguistic competence for civil engineers? I mean some papers, article or who knows where to find them
I highly appreciate your help. Thanks a lot, really. But my research is connected with understanding and reading teachnical drawings in construction projects and some notes and other information related to drawings, making some engineering concepts on the basis of projects not with oral communication. May be you have another files connected with mentioned before. Thanks
Dear collegue! There is no other way (as for my practise) than downloading pappers in topycs you're interested in and reading trying to combine and put in accordance terms and definitions you know in your native language and in some forreign. Ofcourse dictionaries help much!
