With ever going human population and now with AI commanding millions of gallons of fresh surface water annually at their data center, there is a growing concern on water crisis.
Please suggest some smart and innovative ways for data centers to be self sufficient with use of water.
Assuming that this water is used mainly for cooling of the computer/server hardware, the cooling water system can be designed to operate in a loop that continuously recycles the water. Much of the cooling could be done with heat-exchanger surfaces (exposed to ambient outdoor air) thru which the water is pumped at nite, such that cooling-loop water cools close to temperature of cool night-time air. Perhaps most or nearly all of the cooling could be accomplished in this passive way, such that energy needed is just for water pumping thru outdoor cooling loop, and not so much for active refrigeration units.
Humans win in physical or creative tasks, while AI dominates in data-driven challenges. Together, they make a powerful team for water-related issues.
I recommended AC water for whole the data center, but you will have to implement a AC water collection, treatment, and distribution process.
Mr. Ahmed--by AC water, do you mean water that has condensed on/in the air conditioning hardware?
