As the name suggest it's broadcast communication. Based on technique say CDMA, you just send multiple signals modulated with different orthogonal codes. Basically senders sends all data at once. Users having corresponding codes get the information.

In broadcast communication, the destination address is ffff.ffff.ffff and all devices MAC sub-layer accepts the packet. The braodcast packet is a single packet destined to all. Hence, energy consumption is a single time  single frame energy consumption.
