In a large number of the research papers, 15 deg misorientation is consider as a transition from low angle GB to high angle GB. Why this particlar value of 15% and what are the assumptions for considering this value? Is there any +/- exist for this value, and when?
I often think that if >15 deg misorientation is enough for producing high enough strain to break the bonds between the two adjacent atoms, then this limit can easily be affected by type of atoms and the bonding between them. Don't know whether thinking in the right direction.
