I am conducting research on the "Impact of Transport Infrastructure on Economic Growth"
Dependent Variable: GDP Growth (World Bank)
Independent Variable : Railways, goods transported (million ton-km) (World Bank)
But I was told I need more independent variables related to transport infrastructure!
What variables can I use?
EXAMPLE: Eurostat only has information on Europe
I need data for all the countries in the world!

Here are several relevant datasets with wide country coverage:
1. The World Bank has a lot more relevant dataset - rail lines (route-km), investment in transport with private participation, Air transport(registered carrier withdrawal)[as a possible control, alternative transport method], Container Port Traffic{complimetary or substisutive transport, depends on the country.
2. Government expenditure on transport
IMF GFS(Government Finance Statistics) COFOG (classification of functions of government) - expenditure on economic affairs - expenditure on Transport. I believe the code is GF7045. 3. Capital stock (generally includes transport infrastructure so a reasonable starting proxy))

1. Government spending/expenditure on transportation.
2.Investment in transportation (Air, road, ports etc.)
3. Capital stock
