Hello friends

I read in an article that VCSEL diode lasers are the most suitable type for active imaging applications (due to their circular and uniform beam profile). It recorded the attached image at a distance of 500 meters from the target with a VCSEL diode laser without an optical system (using an optics-free system).

Do you have experience in this field?

How far can the target be from an optics-free laser diode to capture an image of acceptable quality (effect of laser diode on short-range or long-range active imaging system)?

Which laser parameters should be considered (single-mode or multi-mode laser, etc.)?

Thank you in advance for your attention.
