I'm writing a book on STATICS for undergraduate students and I'm wondering what is your opinion about the following cases. Thanks for your contribution.
A) Less than 300 pages + solved and unsolved examples
B) Less than 300 pages + only solved examples
C) More than 300 pages + solved and unsolved examples
D) More than 300 pages + only solved examples
Seyed Amin Mousavi, for UG, the basics must be tough very deeply. At present most of the universities are focusing only on marks, so compromising both the part, you can publish the book in two parts. First may be an book with concepts with less than 300 pages and the next as a Solved questions with formulas attached (less than 300 pages)

I prefer the most comprehensive books, so I will go with option C
You can make it in two parts ; one part to clear all basic concepts and ideas about subject and second part with solved and unsolved questions or examples
Thanks for your comments, it seems I supposed to go for more than 300 page with both solved and unsolved examples.
I think option A would be more effective for undergraduate students. Good luck on your book!

I am teaching "Statics" for the last 15 years and i will suggest:
1. Page length of book shall be greater than 300 but less than 400-450 pages
2. provide both solved and unsolved examples
3. it will be appropriate to incorporate a separate chapter at the start on trigonometry and geometry with application to real life problems. It is the application of geometry and trigonometry rules with inappropriate judgement make the subject difficult for students
4. Since the subject is more important for civil and mechanical engineers so problems related to these 2 areas will make the subject interesting
5. Use both scalar and vector approaches for same solved examples
6. Free body diagram is the most important and crucial part of subject. Explaining it in a simple and effective way will help the students to master not only this subject but all the relevant subjects
7. I can provide more suggestions if you send me a draft copy of book if you have already started work on it

I am among those readers who simply prefer compact subject-telling over the novels-like wordy & dense books. I would suggest less than 300 pages, with both solved examples and unsolved questions (with answers/elaborate not solutions). Best of luck!
Very attractive project. I would go for a short course and a large set of commented examples. Option B sounds good for me.
