Hello! I am wondering which test might be best to run to answer three separate Hypotheses, I have three independent variables (education level, age and experience) measured by Likert scale, survey and one dependent variable (knowledge about a certain condition), also measured by survey. I want to know how the three independent variables affect the dependent one. Which test or tests would you recommend? All answers are welcome, thank you!
Sounds like you might consider a multiple regression to see if the 3 independent constructs predict your dependent variable, especially given your independent constructs are likely correlated (e.g., age and education).
Thank you for your response! Does the type or level of data matter? Experience and knowledge will be measured by Likert-scale (ordinal data) but age and education level will be more nominal data (I think?) because the population consists of two different professions who work in the same kind of environment/clinic.
A t-test will only show differences between two variables and not relationships between two variables so I do not think that will answer your question. MR can use continous or dichotomous constructs but the later is not as easily interpreted.
Thank you! Yes, that is my concern regarding MR too. The variables will be discrete/categorical and thus I am not confident about what test to run.
