Which syringe filters (nylon or PVDF) are best for filtration of:
1. mobile phase (containg methanol, sodium octyl sulfate, EDTA in 0.1 M sodium phosphate buffer at pH2.9). as well as
2. supernants of rat brain tissue treated with extraction medium (containing sodium meta bisulfite, perchloric acid, EDTA, L-cysteine) for extraction of biogenic amines.
Thanks for your reply. 0.2 um is ok. But my Q is PVDF or nylon syringe filters??
Please consult a chemical compatibility table to determine which properties would be most compatible with your sample types. PVDF has low protein binding and good general chemical compatibility so if your choice is limited to only the two options, that is the one I would select.
