Hallo Mr. Lakavath, software is a tool which we as Engineers use. Important is the knowledge of FEM theory which is almost same in each FEM tool. if once have the knowledge you can use any software you want. regarding the main question it depends where you will use it Abaqus become more popular than ansys due to the quick development of GUI and simplicity in use but some companies have a huge data based on Ansys such that many projects was conducted with ansys and they just want to keep it up. evaluation of results and visualisation of results i would do it with abaqus since it is easier and nicer than Ansys but it does not mean ansys is not good.
Both of them are good FEM softwares. Normally both programs should cover the needs of industrial companies. Taking this fact into account, the price is another important subject to consider: Ansys is cheaper than Abaqus.
If you want to analyze metallic civil structures of common isotropic and homogeneous materials with typical mechanical properties, I recomend you Ansys due to its lower price. But it is a subjective and personal opinion, of course :)
Hello Mr. Lakavath. The main differences between these two softwares:
Abaqus in comparison with Ansys has additional soil module. Because of it you can perform calculation where you have interation between for example steel structures and the soil surrounding undeground structure. Ansys does not have this possibilities ( no soil module). In addition, (it is my private opinion) Ansys graphical user interface is more friendy for the user than Abaqus GUI.
