It depends on the product, the target audience, and user demographics of each network. In Saudi Arabia, for example, Instagram and Snap Chat are much more popular among younger users, so they are the perfect place to advertise trendy, lifestyle, and fashion products. Though the user base of Twitter is somewhat smaller in comparison, but its users are of older age and interested in business, politics, economy, news, and other serious topics. So advertiser prefer Twitter to advertise products fitting this user demographics, such as investment opportunities, training programs, jobs, and business solutions. Facebook, on the other hand, has become the least popular among Saudis, yet it is still popular among expats, and advertisers target them with specific products and services.

Following your line of thought, it should be known that there are social network that show prominent in one society and does not shows in another. In Nigeria the mostly use social media is the Facebook, twitter, Instagram. The others are just a hand full of them.
