Chlamydia trachomatis in women is symptomatic and mainly causes cervix erosion. The microorganisms are obligately intracellular and can not grow on ordinary or routine culture media. As well, it was not recognized by gram staining. It can not reside in the lower genital site; therefore, sampling and sample type are critical for misdiagnosing the cases.
