We know that variables such as spin, polarisation, position, particle number, energy, etc can exist in a quantum superposition. Variables such as charge, pressure, temperature, entropy etc do not.
But what about mass, time, strangeness, charm, colour triality, electric field etc?
Can we create an exhaustive list of all the physical variables and identify which can possess a quantum superposition and which not? Is there something special we can say about those that can have a superposition? What do they all have in common?
What can we conclude about those variables that cannot have a superposition? What do they have in common?
Are there any undecided variables that we do not know if they have a superposition or not? Are there some that are difficult to agree on? Why do we find it difficult to know what to do with mass given that it is just a constant times energy?
