The side faces the wind or windward side has larger impact (+ve pressure), the structural resistance can be largely improved by making curved or non-sharper building edge like Burj Al-Khalifa building.
The external windward walls or faces and the roof are the most susceptible to wind pressure. We can increase structural resistance to wind by increasing the thickness of the external wall, use of strong columns and the introduction of parapet walls at the roof.
Thank you guys for your answers. i also found some information about this and many people agree that roof is the most failure part of housing in Strong wind speed and follow by windward walls especially some walls with large windows or doors (because its lack of structural support ). However, with some solution to improve the housing structure, how we can test the result that it suitable or strong enough to withstand strong wind speed (about 110 - 150 mph wind gusts) ?
