Which parameters influence the heat rate of gas turbines and how ?

The primary parameters that affect heat rate for a simple gas turbine are:
1. inlet temperature (usually materials limited) - higher is better
2. pressure ratio - higher is better
3. air inlet temperature to compressor - lower is better
4. recuperation of exhaust heat - more recuperation is better
5. compressor and turbine efficiencies - higher is better
