I wonder what the reasons are that your students didn't engage with Twitter when you tried to use it for reflective practice. How much were you/they using it for any other communicative purposes eg programme updates, university news, social interaction, clubs, general news, other? Did you ask them about their daily use of Twitter before starting to use it for reflective practice? I just wonder whether it works better when it is something students are already widely using and encouraged to use, or whether it works well as something new and different. Sorry I don't have any recommendations, but I am interested in your question as I'm planning to try something similar.

Hi Mary Davis thanks for the response I want to elaborate some points here; firstly the students I am workin with are not 'teacher students' they're visual communication design students (undergraduate program) so the critical reflective practice is something I am doing with them as a value addition its not recommended in their course. Secondly the selection of medium had to be well studied first which I kinda ignored, these kids are more interested in Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat and Twitter is not their thing. So I am yet to devised a strategy for these platforms. Thirdly the idea to work on critical reflective teaching practice was to generate knowledge in design practice, to interpret studio practice and to enhance descriptive capabilities. The research is self initiated I am interested to explore deep in said realms of studio design practice.

I will love to hear from you and the way you are conducting the study (if you are willing).
