I have prepared a chemical whole-rock analysis of mica schist, composed of: major quartz, biotite, muscovite, staurolite, syn-tectonic garnet porphyroblasts, and minor rutile, titanite, chlorite as inclusions. There are no plagioclases (either sodium or calcium plagioclases) and no K-feldspars. I have also excluded paragonite blasts in thin section. Therefore, which mineral can contain sodium? The total amount of Na2O in bulk composition is about 4%.
