Which method will be suitable for medical image compression when I want to do encryption in addition to it?
I would say that there are two questions to answer:
*The compression algorithm which would have to be lossless since you want to have the required resolution to analyse the image subsequently
* The encryption algorithm that you use and its mode. I would use asymmetric algorithms to store the encryption key and a symmetric encryption algorithm in OFB since errors do not propagate
Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) based on AES cipher is suitable. Find an article in the following link. It may be useful to you.

DCT or DWT based methods are suitable for lossy compression, whle deflate/inflate algorithms are used for lossless compression. In general, encryption algorithms work at low level and can encrypt any type of data (text, images, audio, video).
