Dear Researchers,
I am facing little confusion in isolation of Streptococcus uberis, Streptococcus agalactiae and Streptococcus dysgalactiae from mastitic milk. I could not decide which media should I use as differential/selective media for Streptococcus species. Actually, I want a media which prevent other than Streptococcus species (particularly those 3 species), or grow least other bacteria. Which will be the feasible one?
It would be a great help if any one can suggest with reference. Thanks in advance.

S. bovis is a catalase-negative and oxidase-negative, nonmotile, non-sporulating, Gram-positive lactic acid bacterium that grows as pairs or chains of cocci. It is a member of the Lancefield group D streptococci. Most strains are gamma-hemolytic (non-hemolytic), but some also display alpha-hemolytic activity on sheep blood agar plates. Strep bovis is a non-enterococci.
I think, the Kanamycin Esculin Azide Agar is used for isolation of Group D Streptococci

You could use Edwards media. Reading in combination whith ultra violet light (for example a woods lamp) provides better results.
