Land art emerged in the 1960s in the context of conceptual art. However, Land art questions the economic and spatial issues of artistic institutions adding to this ecological concerns. The first works of Land Art were made in open fields, with elements of nature itself, most in places inaccessible to the public. Examples: Richard Long, Walking a Line in Peru, 1972. Robert Smithson, Spiral Jetty, 1970.
Although I am familiar with several examples of very interesting Land Art in Portugal, as the works by Jaime Filipe, I learned on the subject more than 20 years ago during a visit to São Paulo where some colleagues introduced me to the productions of Milton Becerra.

No sé si la obra que te compartiré esté acorde a lo que estás buscando sobre LandArt en Latinoamérica.
Es una serie fotográfica de Vik Muniz "Imágenes de basura (2008)" Las fotografía son el resultado de un interesante trabajo que realizó el artista con las personas que trabajaban en el vertedero de basura de Rio, Jardim Gramacho.
Muniz creó con apoyo de las personas que buscaban elementos que se pudieran reciclar, imágenes gigantes de grande sobras de arte importantes dentro de la historia con los materiales que eran reciclados.
De todo este proceso, hay un documental llamado "Waste Land" dirigido por Lucy Walker y dos brasileros (Jaoa Jardim & Karen Herly)
Te comparto este referente, quizás pensando que, con el consumo y las toneladas de desechos que los humanos producimos, los vertederos de basura poco a poco se convierten en un elemento paisajístico y en parte del territorio.
