Previously, I would recommend using the ESI (openform.com) version. It is updated every 6 months. Additional features like Overset mesh and expression syntax in dictionary files like "#eval" are not available in the Foundation version. However, when I was doing high-speed ship resistance calculations, I found that the two versions give different results (~12% difference in total resistance in a particular case) for the same case setup. The difference comes from the viscous component which is higher in the ESI version. In terms of validation with experiment data, the Foundation version gives better agreement. I am now thinking of switching back to the Foundation version.
