In light of the emerging discussion on Resource Oriented Architectures (ROA) and REST technology platform as solutions for spatial data distributed infrastructures, the aim of this document (below) is capture Resource Oriented Architectures principles and assess the feasibility as well as the advantages of using such approach compared with Service Oriented Architectures (SOA).

It depends on the scenarios and situations, in which you would like to implement. Micro services architecture will be a good platform to move on. Especially to move forward SOA will be more preferable in case of IoT as most of the cases fall in their bucket.
