Some research papers contain paprer ID and number of pages (for example 14 pages) as illustrated in the attached photo but no mention of page from -to- . So, when I cite this paper , which one is correct to write in the pages item of the vancouver reference; the article ID or write page numbers such as 14 pages so it will be cited as :1-14
Some journals stopped the practice of allocating page numbers to published articles. An article ID is assigned to each article published in a volume. This article ID is to be used for citation. Number of pages (N) of the article does not mean page no: 01 to N in a volume except for the first article. Some journals would demand to attach the DOI while other journals link the DOI during proofing stage.

This will depend with the journal you are publishing in and the journal you are citing from. For example other journals might lack pagination but have article ID
