I am interested in multi-agent systems, and I want to start reading and reserach on multi-agent systems. I need textbooks to lerarn the basics. Also, any papers about recent advenaces specifically realated to networks.

Here is a recent paper that resolves the problem of producing globally-stable, evenly-spaced lemniscate (or, figure-eight) trajectories while relying on local interactions only. This one of many open problems in the domain of multi-agent systems:
