KD2 Pro Thermal Properties Meter is an accurate instrument used to measure the thermal conductivity of bricks and blocks. I have a doubt about it. Can anyone suggest me?
Not sure there is a specific instrument to measure thermal properties of blocks or bricks etc. Usually one measures the heat conductivity of non-metallic solids by enclosing the specimen in a thermally insulated housing and them heating one end and measuring the rise in temperature of the cold end. When both ends reach the same temperature there is now a steady state between the two ends and the time 't' for the steady state to be reached gives the material its thermal conductivity. Clearly different materials have different thermal conductivities.
