The vessel is 20 mm thick and as to resist to sparks with temperature of 2500 K and 30 bar for hundred of microseconds and has to be realized with a 5-axis CNC.
I could choose between 304, 316, 430 and 441, but if somebody have better ideas I may choose other ones.
Creep strength enhanced ferritic steels(such as P91 , E911 and P92 steel) may be used due to its high creep strength, low coefficient of thermal expansion, excellent thermal conductivity, and good weldability over austenitic stainless steels. CSEF steels have also offered good toughness, ductility, microstructural stability at elevated temperature, high resistance to oxidation and stress corrosion cracking.
Hi, I was thinking to use an AISI 304 steel which provide less lower stress resistance but it contains higher chromium so the oxidation won't be a problem and lower carbon percentage. The machinability is even a problem because I will need components with really complex surfaces and roughness around 3.2 micrometre.
What do you think about it?
