We have two organic compounds A (mono-hydroxy compound) and B (Poly-hydroxy compound) as an additive having molecular weight 60 and 380 respectively, and having different solubility.
If we choose weight % as a parameter, we are using nearly six times more of A molecules when compared to B molecules. If we get similar properties from weight %, which additive to be selected?
If we choose mol % as a parameter, we have to use multiple volumes of B as compared to A. If we get similar properties from this, then which additive to be selected ?

If you would like to use any catalyst for your reaction (for example transition metal catalysts or other type of) you can mention it in mol %, where as if you are working with solution content or solid content representation then you may use wt %. This is generalized perception.

Both are good. The mol% is better from chemical point of view. It does not depend on volumes, the total sum of mol% should be 100. Wt% is better from engineering point of view.

The properties of material does not depend on you. Check the journal where you are going to submit your paper and see what is commonly used.

I do agree that properties of materials are unique, but as we have seen in the case of nanomaterials, the properties of the same materials show a different behavior from the bulk.
In case of research, usually we report the effect of filler or additives. In my opinion if we try to further go to molecular level studies and see the interactions on that level, we are going to get some new insights as well as better understanding of the mechanism.
