which heat treatment is suitable for aluminium 7075 metal matrix composites.and also may i know the steps/ procedure of the heat treatment ?
I suppose that heat treatment of 7075MMC could be used like for 7075 Alloy:
quenching 450-460 0С in water, for maximum strength ageing 120 0C, 20h or (for improve corrosion resistance) step ageing: 1st step - 100 0C,5 h +165, 12h. In 7075MMC alloy vacancies concentration is higher than in "simple"7075, so you have to specify heat treatment parameters result from tensile properties.. Take attention for quenсhiпg conditions - it would be better quickly to dip sample in cold water.

Precipitation in Al 7075MMC is, as is the case in Al 7075, thermally activated. Hence, in a first approach the procedures for Al 7075 MMC will resemble those of Al 7075. The basic question is according to me the kinetics. The following parameters seem to be relevant: size distribution of the reinforcing particles, grain size distribution of the Al 7075 alloy and the quenching temperature, all of them having an effect on the excess vacancy concentration. The effect of the quenching temperature seems to me twofold: the amount of excess vacancies and the residual stresses invoked by the difference in thermal expansion coefficients of the Al alloy and the reinforcing particles. I would dare to expect that the kinetics of the precipitation in Al 7075 MMC compared to Al 7075 is enhanced. However, this needs to be checked by a preliminary study. Good luck!
