Within the sphere of social science - which explanatory frameworks or models do you apply to situate your work? These are also referred to as conceptual and theoretical frameworks.
I am interested in the following types:
- Epistemology (knowledge orientations)
- Ontology (existence/being)
- Culture (principles/values/modes of social organisation)
- Pedagogy (educational).
Feel free to refer to your own frameworks or scholars who have been central in your research. Please also share "benefits" of these for scholarly argumentation.

In social sciences, interdisciplinary inclusive theories are relatively few or not yet. For this reason, you have a good command of the theories about the interdisciplinary issues you want to work with and you should be able to create a mixture of them in your studies. This is more difficult than just working on a discipline, but it will be more effective and remarkable if it is good work. You need to master the relevant theories of philosophy, sociology, education, and social theory. In addition, you need to be able to combine the theories of these issues in a logical integrity. I wish you success.
Hi, I have tried to make sense of the different explanatory models used by social scientists by elaborating a framework that focuses on different explanation-seeking questions (and the respective explanatory models that answer those questions). I don't know whether that is the kind of work you are looking for, but it is at least an attempt of trying to deal with the plurality of explanatory models in the social sciences in a productive way. Semiotics is by far the more robust toolbox, because it allows one to conduct social scientific inquiry in a way that is not divorced from -- but rather connects with -- the natural sciences.
