Which describing of an axis of the column is better: as a part of a sine curve (Euler's), or formula of curve radius and BC (tech. stability theory) ?

Which describing of displacement of an axis of the column is better:

(1) as a part of a sine curve and the boundary conditions - like in the Euler's theory,

(2) as determined by the formula of the radius of a curve (1/ro=d2y/dx2) and the boundary conditions - like in the technical stability theory,

... and why ?

In my opinion, Euler's method is the best. Because it gives efficient results with the cost-less processing procedure .
