We all know that we can describe crystal lattices by the 14 Bravais lattice types. Many calculations or explanations are, however, related to the primitive lattices. The most prominent impact of centered Bravais lattices are absent reflections (integral reflection conditions) in any diffraction technique. They are not related to the crystal symmetry or the structure but only the result of the use of centered lattices.

Where else the use of centered lattices have a comparable impact?
