the textbooks, reviews and special volumes on sediments are manifold and your question can only be answered, if I know what your study is aimed at and which level you are going to work on sediments and sedimentary rocks. Another issue is your background. Are you more interested in the organic or inorganic part of this type of rocks ?

Any selection made by me would only be half way true and of no help for you. You can go into the list of publications of mine available on Researchgate, select one of the papers comming most closely to your focal discipline and browse the list of references. It is only a first step.
