From my best of knowledge you should go for study on the various antimicrobial or biocide inorganic nanoparticles such as TiO2, ZnO, CuO, Ag Nps, Cu Nps and in organic polymer nanoparticles are mainly prepared from the natural and antimicrobial lolymers such as Chitosan, Gelatin, sodium alginate and many more.

I like to add that SiO2, PZT ceramic will be the ideal for the study.

What about graphite?

Dear Colleagues,

I would also suggest looking at the graphene or functionalised graphene as suggested above. We have shown  significant improvement in the wear resistance and coefficient of friction using these fillers with PTFE. I'm not too familiar with the antimicrobial properties unfortunately.

Furthermore, the type of polymer is also important that you want to apply in your study.

I work with kaolinite. I advise you to look for an innovative route in your research because you may encounter difficulties in publications in jounals of greater impact.

Look, in science specially in tribology there is no finality. So, you can study on these nanoparticles. You can also study on effect of shape and size of these nanoparticles for sure.

Generally we can expect round particles show better tribological properties in comparison with angular particles. but there is no universality.
