Language teachers at UTP (Language Department) are increasingly interested in the role of academic papers in the development of language (English) teaching practices. Research papers in Academic Discourse are attracting the attention on many language teachers interested in fostering their teaching experiences.

A most recent one applies to using Automated Writing Evaluation (AWE). Recent research has revealed that using AWE could help teachers learn more about students' academic writing. For instance, Ling et al. (2021) found significant correlations between AWE features of conventions, reflection, vocabulary and their survey-identified motivation constructs (e.g., confidence). Their findings substantiated the importance of learning about students' perceived writing aspects and fostering student motivation in writing.
