I have Pin On disc abrasive tester in my institutes, but it cannot be used for a nanocomposite coatings of the order of 100 micrometer. Which are abrasive testers other than pin in disc ? Where can I find them in India ?
We, at ARCI-Hyderabad use the Pin on disc tribo tester for coatings with more than 100 microns thickness. I think you can go for it. It works really well.

Lavakumar. Thanks for the Information sharing and for sharing the link. In case of Pin On disc, you need to have coating over nearly 10mm diameter pin right. What technique do you use to apply coating ? Dip coating ? Do you have any research paper related to this ? Will be very useful, thank you.
Yes, you typically need a 10mm dia pin or else you can use 10mmX10mmX5mm sample which you can place in a standard holder (available at ARCI). At ARCI we have lot of coating techniques viz thermal spraying, PVD, electrodeposition etc.
