Association class II was admitted to our center. Transthoracic
echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiography
demonstrated ASD secundum type, with its largest diameter 26 mm (Fig. 1).
A decision was made to attempt percutaneous device closure with device after obtaining informed consent.
According to you ; which are more important rims at asd closure ?
Well,the svc and ivc rims,if the atrial rim is small. .one can use some LA tissue. .aortic margin is not of importance in a device closure.
Caval rims, AV valves, coronary sinus rim and less important aortic rim (>5mm)
All rims other than the aortic rim are important and should be not smaller than 5 mm. The other important question is the defect size compared to rim width and more important seems to be the circumferential angle of smaller rim (
