Can power coefficient i.e., Cp value in the Wind energy system calculated without considering electrical component efficiency? If we calculate without considering electrical efficiency, then can it be denoted as Cp or can it be called as Aerodynamic efficiency?
Cp, according to me, is the aerodynamic efficiency showing the amount of kinetic energy harvested from wind. You can refer to Beltz limit in MIT lectures to have better understanding. The part were it gets confusing is when research papers modelling wind turbine as a function of wind speed (eg. 24 hr wind velocity profile) consider only one efficiency. Since, the efficiency of electrical and mechanical components after the turbine-blade interface depends more on factors other than wind velocity and detailed modelling of a wind turbine could be out of the scope of topics considered in the papers, this approach shall not be an issue. Hence, based on the research topic, the nature of the modelling can be decided on, or here, to consider Cp as aerodynamic efficiency or net efficiency. Hope this helps...

Wind turbine power coefficient Cp is absolutely not connected to the electrical componenets efficiency. It is mainly depending of the blades design and it changes according the pitch angle.
