I agree that GeoTIFF format doesn't store wavelength information. But for hyperspectral images spectral wavelength is important to know. I got to know that the GeoTiff files store these information in different file. But i couldn't able to find that spectral wavelength information in those files (I downloaded Landsat GeoTIFF files from earthexplorer and checked the information in .MET files).
Here my question is, do the hyperspectral GeoTIFF metadata files have spectral wavelengths?
If all metadata files don't have that information, how to decide wavelength for bands in hyperspectral cube?
Without the spectral wavelength information, how to pick bands to visualize true color, false color etc..images?
Before downloading the image you should have looked at the wavelength information of the Sensors you are working with. Thus in your case you download a GeoTIFF image which means you will not get all bands with regards to the image.
But knowing the sensor you are working with you will be able to know band combination for the various visualization i.e. true colour, false colour among others.

Thank you for your answer sir. I agree with that the wavelengths are defined by sensors for there data. I would like to clarify one more thing that, do we have hyperspectral geotiff files? That means one file having multiple bands information in it or multiple files containing continuous wavelength spectra. The satellites like Landsat, spot and etc.. gives multi band images. We just have 7 to 8 bands in it.
