I tried to find the translation of this seminal paper, written in 1925, but I've not found it. Automatic translations from German language have the problem of dealing with math symbols.
Any clue?
Dear Rey, have you tried translating it with ChatGPT (or any other LLM)? They might be able to deal with the mathematical symbols? Or else, you could copy and paste the language parts only - and read the Math as it is in the original, since it is language-independent? This would be cumbersome, but should work out in the end.
unless you pay top dollar or have your own, no LLM will let you translate longer documents

Michael Pace-Sigge No, precisely I have it now in front of me (as a part of reading I am doing currently). It was written in 1978 by Pavel Alexandrov and and Vitaly Fedarchuk.
The other document, which I am lookhng for, was written by Pavel Alexandrov in 1925 (the first reference to the modern axiomatic definition of open topology, BTW, exactly 100 years ago), and that is part of the problem: it is old and the original in German language that I have is scanned, and some automatic translators find difficult to deal with image translations. There are converters from image to PDF format, but here arise another problem: those I've found did not like my IP (because "geography"):, for example Google translator needs the image to be converted into "pure" PDF format (text).
That's just the starting part of the problem. I translate some fragments of the article using DeepSeek. But when the task of translation be overcome, there will be necessary to analyze how old, outdated mathematical (topological) terms will be translated into English. What I've seen up to now are showing me some "rear" expressions, that I've never read in Topological papers or books (but, of course, probably they are correct , but outdated, or just I don't know them).
That's the reason why I am looking for a human made translation.
